Celebration of Life for my Mother, Donna May Martin Tomlinson

My Mother passed away last fall after a long stay in a skilled nursing facility, at the age of 94. She will be interred with my Father in the Penn Valley Cemetery on May 9th 2025. We planned to have two Celebration of Life events for her prior to her interment. The first event was held in Corcoran, CA at the Corcoran Community Church at which my Mother's youngest brother is Pastor. My Mother still has 3 siblings living in that area who are all in their 80's. We felt that we should have a celebration in the Corcoran area where here brothers and sister would have easier access. The event was held on April 26, 2025. Mother's brother John handled the arrangements at his church and arranged for a local lady to provide a nice tri-tip lunch for the event.
Susan and I arrived at the church around 3:00 pm on Friday. Ginger and Mike arrived a bit later at around 6:30. We set up camp on the church grounds and spent the evening remembering Donna with brother John and his daughter Charlotte.
We assembled in the church Saturday at 11:00 am. Pastor John said a few words about our Mother and several of the family also spoke about their memories of Donna. Those in attendance were:

The other COE will be be held in Penn Valley on Friday, May 9, 2025. We will start at the Penn Valley Cemetery for the interment and then go to the Penn Valley park for a picnic. Ginger Barrett will be hosting this event and will be reaching out to family and friends with more details as we get closer.
